Intelligence.
Setup and interrogation of IntelliRaid controller status is clear and easy using the user-friendly LCD front panel or the unique Graphical User Interface. The IntelliRaid controller can also inform you and/or your IT department of important status changes by email.

Reliability.
The controllers support Raid 0, 1, 1-0, 3 and 5. Raid 3 allows for data redundancy so 2 single drive failures (1 / controller) will not lose the data stored. IntelliRaid can also define 1 or 2 drives per controller as Hot Spares. This allows immediate automatic substitution for a failed drive so data redundancy can be restored automatically. All drives are Hot Swappable so the faulty drive can be removed and when it is replaced, it becomes the new hot spare. All of this can be done without taking down the system or even powering down the drive array.
Reliability sets a standard with SATA drives with up to 1 million hours MTBF.

Performance.
1stDesign IntelliRaid is a Dual SCSI controller direct attached storage with up to 5TBs of raw data. It contains dual channel SCSI high performance Raid controllers controlling 10 high speed SATA II drives. Parallel control, read ahead and write caching of all disks gives consistent and high sustained data rate ideal for SD and HD video applications. For applications that do not require the fastest data rate, the controllers can be accessed separately as a completely redundant back up configuration or for maximum performance use two of these units to back up each other.
