• Setup: Convenient, clear, easy to use Graphical User Interface (GUI) or use its built-in LCD read-out. Instead of combinations of thumbwheel switches, push buttons and beeps, IntelliRaid talks to you in English allowing clear, easy to follow setup options. Use it turnkey out of the box or quickly change any setting.
  
  
• Local or Remote Storage: IntelliRaid FC can be used local or remote via fibre channel connection. Or, for the ultimate in quite editing, use the Silent Partner™ option, which allows the Computer and IntelliRaid to be up to 60’ away. But, unlike other storage solutions, due to its LAN connection, the user or other locations can check the status and even reconfigure IntelliRaid FC without going to the remote storage location.
  
  
• Status and Error Reporting: If the status of your storage changes, IntelliRaid FC will inform you on the LCD read-out or through the GUI or it will even send you and other interested parties, e.g. your IT Department, an email.
  
  
• Remote Interrogation: When notification is received, interested parties can interrogate the status of IntelliRaid FC remotely from any computer on your network or even remotely from off site locations if you choose.
  
  
• Future Proof: Don’t purchase dead-end storage. In the near future there will be several cost effective real-time uncompressed HD editing solutions. IntelliRaid FC is ready now. It was designed for real-time HD and therefore handles all formats now and in the future.
  
  
• Flexibility: IntelliRaid FC can be configured with multiple volumes, each in any RAID configuration including 0, 1, 1-0, 5 and video efficient RAID 3. It can also migrate size or RAID configuration without shutting down and unloading all data. After migrating, IntelliRaid will automatically optimize the location of data across the new RAID array.
  
  
• Reliability: Older RAID designs are based on IDE drives and other cost cutting measures.
  • IntelliRaid FC uses the latest SATA2 SMART drive technology, which monitors, anticipates and announces pending failures.
  • SATA2 disk reliability, mean time between failure (MTBF), is increased the by a factor of 10, up to 1.2 M Hrs MTBF at 100% duty cycle.
  • Unique cable-less SATA2 backplane design eliminates common failures due to cables or connectors.
  • Critical components including fans and power supplies are redundant (dual or quad), modular and hot swappable and dual AC input is standard.
    
    
• Auto-Repair: IntelliRaid FC can be configured with “Hot Spares”. If there is a disk failure, in addition to not losing your data, the Hot Spare will automatically take over and replace the failed disk and you are protected again. Later, the failed disk can be hot swapped out and replaced. The new disk becomes the new Hot Spare.
